Are there ways to overcome a food addiction w/o drugs or therapy?

30 Mar

This must be one of the hardest addictions to beat because with other drugs the user can attempt to completely avoid the drug, but you have to eat food which is a drug in food addiction. Any advice? (besides counseling/ psychotherapy, etc)

    Will power.

You have to really WANT to overcome.

    That’s how I quit smoking.

Yes there is a way that I know of. God can deliver you from any habits, before I became a christian I had some really bad habits, but God just totally set me free from those when I chose to follow Him.

I try to remember the only way for me to lose weight is to burn more calories than I consume. The only way to do that is to watch how many calories are in the food I eat, and try to burn calories through exercise. I think the key is finding some kind of exercise that is really fun, not a burden, and not just to lose weight. Of course, I try to save calories here and there by having the Diet Dr. Pepper (which tastes pretty good to me), instead of the high-calorie regular Dr. Pepper. It’s just a matter of how well someone manages their calorie input/output. Someone with food addiction obviously has a hard time doing that. The person has to be motivated to find their fun way(s) of exercising, and their own ways of reducing their calories. Because we all splurge from time to time! Hope this helps.

There are no quick fixes for food addiction. Also willpower is not enough for this type of problem, you need to find a good resource in the community to help you with this.

Personally for me I have found that Dr Phil is the only one who has gotten the formula on weight loss figured out. I endorse his methods because they are medically sound and are gathered from long term reliable true tested professional sources.

Seriosuly if you need at least a boost I would like to invite you to my site htt://groups.msn.com/KsandFriends-inwlc. I have over two years established presence on the internet. I also am pursing a degree in physical education and doing a double concentration in exercise physiology and public health education.

Hope that you find the help you seek.
