Has the improvement been permanent or temporary? Please tell me whether your child is high-level functioning, low-level functioning, or where the child is on the autistic spectrum and what improvement was made, how long it lasted, and what type of therapy created that improvement.

I think it’s appropriate to put this question in marriage and divorce to get some mature feed back on Tiger Woods Apology speech this morning. I heard the whole thing and I also heard everyone’s mixed feelings on his speech.

Do you think he was sincere?
Do you think he would have felt so bad if he hadn’t been publicized and caught?
Do you think he would have went to rehab if he didn’t think it would end his career if he didn’t?
Why do you think his wife was not there?

It’s not so much that I care about Tiger, I actually never liked him! This is a question for society and it’s views.

A man I know who is late 30s keeps talking about sex, sexual history with other women etc. It is a little too much in my opinion. I could say boys will always be boys, but in this case something might be a little over the top. People who have personally known sex addicts, would you please give me some common signs that somebody may be a sex addict?

My husband says he has an addiction to food and he just can’t stop eating. He even eats when he’s full. He says it’s not like a drug addiction where you just STOP because no one can quit eating. I don’t know what to do for him. I want him to go see a regular counselor, but he’s afraid that wouldn’t help.

I’m trying to find out some info about whether the Coast Guard will accept someone who has gone through alcohol/addictions treatment. If you are honest on your SF-86, it shouldn’t be a problem as long as you finished the treatment and are discharged from the facility right? Thanks.

I was a junkie for over 8 years off & on. I would kick then go back over & over again. I could never stay clean for any real length of time, I always seemed to need something even if it was just pot or drinking liquor. It seems looking back that I have been high most of my life( sad as that is) here I am just days away from my 30th birthday & I really want to be done with that whole scene however, I feel as though I am cheating because I’m doing methadone maintnance & for some reason that feels like cheating to me like an easy way out. However, I am clean other then the methadone & I haven’t been able to do that like……ever so I do feel sort of good about it but like I said not as good as if I were doing it with nothing. I just wish I could feel this good without taking anything.I guess I’m just one of those people who always needs something. Are there any ex-junkies out there who are doing well without useing anything?

I am starting going to AA meetings for my vicodin and methadone addiction. I feel uncomfortable saying that “I am an alcoholic” because I am not. I am not going to NA meetings because I have heard they are not very helpful and that it is mostly a meeting which people go to to score drugs.

I’m wondering if anybody knows how to introduce yourself as a narcotic addict in the AA setting just as I would at a NA meeting?

I know methadone is commonly used, but I’ve heard that it can be addictive as well. I suppose it could be true, as heroin was first believed to be a medication for morphine addiction. So, are there other treatments for heroin addiction?

I have had this addiction all my life. I wan to stop eating chocolate or atleast cut down vastly. But each time i tryed i crave it more. How do i stop myself eating more chocolate?

My husband was a heroin addict for about 10 years. When we met I had finally helped and convinced him it was time to put a stop to it. He did make the decision to stop and get clean. So we moved away from it and he has been clean for almost 2 years. The problem is he wants to move back because of family but I am not all for it just yet. And this is why, Just the few times we have visited there he has relapsed once and 2 other times I had to talk him out of not doing it. Its like a fight everytime we go back to were he use to use. Will he ever be able to move there and not want to use heroin? Is it possible just to not ever want to use it again? He has always told me.. Once a heroin addict always one… is this true? Advice on this terrible drug please!
