how do you help a heroin addict get clean?

    Honestly, the only way you could get them to even admit to somebody who’d stop them is get them arrested. Then they’ll be forced to go through the rehab and stuff so they can return to normal life.

    If they do not want to get clean there isn’t much you can do.

    If they want to, you can help them locate a rehab center.

    BEEN THERE! TRY A METHADONE CLINIC. I HAVE BEEN ON IT FOR 13 YRS. NO HEROIN.

    Get them to admit they have a problem and hold an intervention.
    But whether or not they admit they have a problem, you should still hold an intervention.

    First of all it would be very helpful to have a bit more info like, age of person,and the area that you live in. In the U.S there are state funded treatment centers but after speaking to people in other countries this is not true of every country. In the U.S there are many state funded inpatient treatment centers and after having been a counselor for many years and in recovery, that is the only way for a heroin addict to get clean.
