Is a therapist required to take action in this case?

I posted this as an extra question, on another mental health question I have floating out there, but no one’s answered yet, and it’s kind of important.

If I tell my therapist about how I have been having constant suicidal thoughts and have multiple methods planned, and that I self harm, are they required to admit me to a hospital or treatment center? I don’t have money so I want to avoid this, but I need someone to talk to. :(

 

Does anyone know of a class action lawsuit for individuals against the Oxycontin manufacturers?

Several states have won their lawsuit. I’ve heard the next step will be for those of us that have paid a heavy price for being misled by the drug manufactuer of Oxycontin. Addiction, financial ruin, required detox, treatment and a lifetime committment to recovery.
