My troubled 22 year old nephew called me. He overdosed and is looking to leave Detroit and come to Cal. I won’t let him stay with me because he will steal from his own family and I can’t trust him. I also have kids to worry about. Any idea where someone in SoCal can go without a job and no money who is trying to get off drugs? Also I’ve helped him out with money before and he has used it to buy drugs so I can’t do that.
I want to see a therapist here in California but dont know where to start?

This is for my brother. We’ve only just moved here at the beginning of the month, and he’s gotten himself into bad company already. They influenced him into taking drugs, and now he’s so much different from the way he was before. Sometimes I look at him and I wonder whether he’s the same brother that I used to climb trees with, the brother who used to help me with my homework. Last night, we got into a fight, and though he hurt me, it also made me realize that even though he’s a drug addict now, he’s still my brother, and I would do anything to get him to go back to the way he once was. Please help.

I’m especially interested in those who are willing to accept patients with gambling addiction. I know someone who has this compulsion to gamble his money away. He would bet on a lot of things and then lose, but he still won’t stop. He has even gone so far as to steal money just so he could have something to gamble away. He says he doesn’t want to live like this anymore but he can’t help it. I would really like to help him find a treatment center.
