How does a Statue of Limitations Law work in regards to sexual abuse cases?

17 May

If someone was a minor between the ages of 10-16 when the sexual abuse took place and they are 30 now…and as an adult decide they want to press charges…
How do you do this, when is it too late?
I am in Texas in case this matters…Is there any way I can make this person pay for what they have done in anyway… either by jail time or even financially if that’s all I could do to him?

I wish to find addiction treatment centers in Manasquan, New Jersey that can handle cases of ambien addiction.

06 Apr

It started with a case of insomnia. My daughter was taking ambien then. However, she became addicted to it. I saw a stash in her room and she’s always up and about. I already talked to her and she’s already confessed that she is indeed using the drug for the euphoric effects that it imparts. I would like to find a treatment center for her.

Are there addiction treatment centers in Biddeford, Maine that are willing to take on dual diagnosis cases?

03 Apr

I know that dual diagnosis is harder to treat than just substance abuse disorder. This is why I want to make sure that my cousin gets to be treated at a treatment center wherein the people are adept at dealing with patients that are also dealing with psychological problems on top of their substance abuse disorder. I don’t know how to find one, though. Any suggestions?

Are there any addiction treatment centers in Atherton, California that address cases of gambling addiction?

03 Mar

I’m doing a report on gambling for one of my classes and I would like to find more information regarding gambling addiction. I figured that since I don’t know someone who is afflicted with such a disorder, I’d go directly to treatment centers so that I may interview a patient.

Christian Divorce and Remarriage in Cases of Abuse?

22 Feb

I have a question about this scripture:
1 Corinthian 15
15But if the unbeliever leaves, let him do so. A believing man or woman is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace.

My husband has been verbally and emotionally abusive our entire marriage. He has gaming addiction issues and has had rage problems associated with this. Recently he turned to physical abuse and I kicked him out. The bible is pretty silent on abuse and divorce/remarriage. I have been thinking long and hard about this and have come to the conclusion that abuse IS a form of abandonment. In my husband’s case, he claims to be a believer and yet he does NOT act like a believer. Christ calls husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church, and died for the church. He tells husbands to love their wives as they love themselves because, biblically, they are one flesh. In the cases of abuse these men are NOT obeying God’s commandments here.
My husband refuses to admit he has any addiction or abuse issues. I have dragged him to 3 counselor the past couple years of our marriage and no progress has been made. I have done everything I possibly can to get him help and restore our marriage. If my husband refuses to ever seek help and get treatment so that our marriage can continue in a God honoring way, wouldn’t that be him abandoning me? Further since he is outright refusing to obey God, wouldn’t that essentially make him an unbelieving spouse, based on conduct alone and put us into the context of this verse?
I have tried to seek advice from the leaders of my church and all give me vague answers like “Pray about it” or “I will never advise you to get divorced”. Yes, it would be nice if my husband magically turned himself over to God and got the help he needed. This may never be reality and I just want to know if it would be abandonment if he refuses to get help and stop hurting me. Also, yes it is is 1 corinthians 7:15. I forgot the 7.

How to find addiction treatment centers in Boerne, Texas that can handle cases of prescription drug addiction?

20 Feb

I have a friend who happens to be addicted to sleeping pills. It started out as a need because she’s insomniac, but for some reason, she has found a way to experience euphoria from use of the drug. She buys a lot and when I asked her what she uses it for, she even cajoled me to try. I would like to find an addiction treatment center so I can find out more information about this kind of addiction and maybe then I can get someone to talk to her about her condition.
