My mother is disabled and a prescription pain pill addict. She has serious back problems and got hooked to the pills. Her doctor has been told about her addiction and continues to prescribe her the pills. I want to know if there is any legal action I can take to get the doctor to stop giving her pain medication.
I am being treated for a suicide attempt about 6 weeks ago. Therapy has been go well. However, my doctor is a little harder to convince and is putting me on high dosages of drugs. I am supposed to gradually build up to the recommended dose but my therapist says if I feel fine on the current dose do not up the dose; I agree with her. After all she is the one that spends the most time with me. Who would be best served to give me the advice?

My friends daughter is a drug addict and is prescribed 150 Zanax and 120 perks each month. Only she takes them all in the first week with her boyfriend. Last night the boyfriend almost die (actually he did die they brought him back twice). Her parents have asked the doctors office time and time again not to prescribe her these prescriptions because she is a drug addict but he has ignore their request and has refused to schedule an appointment with the parents. There seems to be no help for a situation like this in Pennsylvania.
Product Description The Addict opens a window on the very private world of prescription drug addiction, revealing the harrowing and riveting story of a young woman whose life has been taken over by an impulse that she can’t control and a need that she can’t extinguish. Lucy’s first appointment with Dr. Michael Stein was on a sunny day in April, and the minute she sat down she said, “I’m here for your program,” beginning a series of intimate encounters during the course of a year that took her back to the origins of her addiction and unraveled a life driven by compulsion and the constant pursuit of the next pill. The Addict follows Lucy from the start of her treatment, through relapse, to her eventual long-term recovery, including her breakup with a destructive boyfriend whose own addiction to drugs surpassed hers. This is an unforgettable tale of a young woman living on the edge but determined to take control of her life. Here also is the deeply personal account of a doc… More >>
